     Course content (subject to change):

  1. Opening bids & proposed rebids – the Rule of 20
  2. Responding to partner’s opening bid – the Rule of 14.
  3. Weak Two Openers – the modern way, and why.
  4. Transfers over 1 No-Trump - why they are so important.
  5. Losing Trick Count, Part 1 – the easy way to decide the contract.
  6. Losing Trick Count, Part 2.
  7. Take-Out Doubles – when a double is not a double for penalties.
  8. Suit Overcalls and Unassuming Cue Bids, Part 1 – the best kept secret in bridge.
  9. Suit Overcalls and Unassuming Cue Bids, Part 2 – more secrets exposed.
  10. Roman Key-Card Blackwood – the modern way to show your aces.

David Pollard is an experienced bridge teacher of many years standing. He promises the course will be fun as well as instructional, and he promises not to bite! There will be hand-outs at the end of each session.

Cost: £20 per person for the ten sessions to include all costs, payable in full on application. Please contact Terry Howells on 01665 576618 to book your place.
